DIV height 100%
I'm trying to step into the table-less design for our website, but I'm getting discouraged right away. In a first attempt to use the DIV function I'm trying to setup a page which contains multiple colums (which should looks like http://www.dcviews.com/links.htm).
The 100% height parameter when used in DIV seems to give different results across browsers. When used in Explorer and Opera it expands to 100% of the available windows space and multiple table scrollbars are added where needed. In Mozilla Firefox and Netscape it expands to 100% of the available data and a only single window scrollbar is added. To see the difference just look at this simplified example at: http://www.dcviews.com/height.htm using Explorer and Netscape. My Question: how do I get multiple column scrollbars in Netscape ?? Thanks for any suggestions. Sebastian |

Every person learning CSS hits this rather annoying snag. Bottom line is that you can't effectively use height 100%.
Discussed here: http://forums.devarticles.com/t5529...ighlight=column Resources: http://www.bluerobot.com/web/layouts/ http://forums.devarticles.com/t4554...light=bluerobot |

How sad...
Stumpy,
Thanks for you feeback, that's saving me a lot of digging. At the same time however, I have to conclude that is not possible to get multiple column scrollbars in Netscape as, as far as I know, using DIV is the only method to achieve this. (Apart from FRAMES and IFRAMES ofcourse) Sebastian |
