Ok, I've read every word on the tutorial and applied it the best of my knowledge and it doesn't work. The server I'm testing it on does support ASP so, I haven't a clue whats going on.
The Tutorial: Creating an ASP Members Login My Testing Site: Test Site that will lead to the index.htm but all the files are there as the tutorial told me to name them, so just reference that I guess. Thank you for the help, I'm kinda clueless now. |

Are you SURE the server you're testing on supports ASP? Because I can see your server-side code when I view the source of the first page....

Also, you might want to search this forum for comments on this tutorial. It's been discussed in a couple of other posts.
If you just cut and paste the "Login.asp" page and the "register.asp" page, you'll run into problems because there is an error - the login and register.asp codes are the same, when they should be different. Go to developerfusion.com to get the register.asp code Last edited by aspnewbie : March 31st, 2003 at 06:52 PM. |

Thank you!
Yes I'm sure the server supports ASP, I'm already running some active scripts on it.
Thank you, I will try there! |

OK, I went to developerfusion.com found the script, applied the changes, you were right they were totally different. Now the scripts are acknowledgable now, but the functionality still doesn't work too well. Feel free to check the scripts, just be sure to let me know if you find anything wrong.
Test Site To show that ASP is supported, Kodia Phinx And here is the server stats, Anfyhost.com |

You'll need to actually post your code (since it's server side script and executes when we visit your site) as well as any error messages you get.
Also, let us know what exactly you want to change about the functionality and we might be able to make some recommendations. You might also want to look at the "Hey I remember you" article on this site. which accomplishes the same thing using slightly different code. |

Well I can give links to the pages so you can see them for yourself...
I'm not sure what the errors are so. Login.asp Register.asp Lemme know if you need the links to the DB or the other two asp pages. But every page is word for word as the one on the developersfusion.com site. *shrug* ![]() |

You've still only provided links to asp pages on your site, where the pages are being interpreted by the server. To speed up this process, could you either upload them here or save them on your server in a different format (i.e., .txt as opposed to .asp) for us to view and we could use a more detailed explanation of your problem(s). Then we maybe can try the script on our servers and check to see if the problem can be replicated.
I get a 500 error when I try to register - but it doesn't indicate the line number or the nature of the error. I need that info to ascertain the problem. Last edited by aspnewbie : April 2nd, 2003 at 06:07 PM. |

I'm getting "file not found" errors when I click on your links - if I can't get the files, I can't help! Just upload them here.
