Question Network logon in vb.net

I have an application that is accessing files on another network. If I open a explorer window and type the address to that location, it pops up a logon prompt, I enter my credentials, I'm logged on, and have access to the files. But if I try to access that location in my vb.net program, it says "file not found" and never asks me to login. How can I prompt the user to login and gain access to those files within my vb.net program?

Thanks,
Bruce

You'll need to do your authentication inside your app - windows won't magically ask you for your credentials if you are trying to access files pragmatically.

O.K. I would you do that. I am trying to write a VB.net app that will execute a batch file that will uninstall a program but you need to be logged on as admin to run the uninstall file and we don't want to the users to know the admin password.
Can someone please help?
thanks

Could you go into more detail about how you would set your .NET app to do this windows authentication? I'm still trying to pick up on VB & .NET and am stuck in this situation as well....Any pointers please?
