Open a pop-up window on form page with Response.Redirect

Hello,

I have a very simple form. Upon submitting it I am successfully creating and writing to a CSV file via ASP. This bit all works fine.

The final command in the asp file is:

' Go to thank you page
response.redirect "thankyou.htm"

I'd prefer the original page containing the form to remain in the browser and the thank you page to be popped-up.

Is this possible with Response.redirect or do I need something else?

The page that contains the original form cannot be asp it has to be a simple .html file.

TIA
TIM

There isn't a way to what you're describing with ASP. You'll need to use some javascript for that, but it'll be fairly tricky, getting the form to submit to different page and that page pop up in a new window.

You could do something like this. I've used it in the past:

Code:
response.write("<scr" & "ipt>" & vbCrLf)
response.write("open(""thankyou.html"",""ThankYou"",""width=550,height=450,scrollbars=no"");" & vbCrLf)
response.write("</scr" & "ipt>")

hi, i have the same issue on response.redirect & popup window.

issue: i have a main.htm for user to enter their email address. upon clicking on 'submit' button:
- <form method="post" action="sendmail.asp">
- i would like this actions in sendmail.asp:
1) emailed user's input to me [ successful ]

2) a small pop up window with acknowledge message
[ successful, i used the codes as suggested:
response.write("<scr" & "ipt>" & vbCrLf)
response.write("open(""msg.htm"",""message"",""width=400,height=250,scrollbars=no"");" & vbCrLf)
response.write("</scr" & "ipt>") ]

3) main.htm remains
[ BUT....problem! ...main.htm refresh to sendmail.asp instead! ]

i guess you must have solved this issue by now, any help & advises will be very much appreciated!
