Question ASP 1.0 - Session in ASP

Hi All,
My application uses Basic authentication and the Request.ServerVariables("AUTH_USER") is used to set a Session variable called LoginUser.
I would like to know the scope of the ServerVariables that are available through the Request object.
If there is a Session time out at the server end, will the values for these ServerVariables still exist.

Thanks,
Smeetha

The Request object is created in the global namespace, thus it has (and it's children as well) global scope.

As for Sessions, once they time out, values can no longer be added to the session. However, since those session variables actually exist as client cookies, they can still be read as long as the client hasn't closed their browser since the session timed out.
