VB macros in Outlook 2000

Hi all, dont know if this is really the right group...but, sick of the spam and viruses going around, I wanted to extend MS Outlooks default rules processing capability by adding a macro which would mark all the incoming spam as read (thus removing the 'new mail' indicator from the in-tray).

Couple of questions:
1) is this possible using VB code
2) what would the code look like

(not a VB person at all yet!).

You can do almost anything you like with Outlook. Plugin's can be written (in VBA) to carry out any task not already included in the app.
