Inserting the record into tree

bool studentDB::insert(studentRecord* newRecord)
{
treeNode *data = new treeNode(newRecord);
treeNode *current;
bool found = false;
current =root;

while(!found && current != NULL)
{
i don't steps need to be taken to makesure there is no memory leak like check this first and check that? can some one help me to understand how inserting the node should work.

Question not clear. Do you want to write code for checking mem leaks or do you want to know how to insert a new record?
