Question Java interfacing with Visual C++ Libraries

We use some dedicated C libraries, along with 2 dll's to develop Visual C++ applications to communicate with our embedded controllers over Ethernet. I would like to be able to use JAVA to develop a web-based front-end. Can anyone suggest how best to make some form of interface between Java, and our Visual C++ library, so my Web page can display information retrieved from the control.
Please bear in mind I am relative newbie to Java
