Re Programming UGI in C++
Hi!
I was wondering the best way to add a graphical user interface (such as menus, tabs, alert windows) to a c++ program which would not be restricted to a ms windows environment. Thx. |

You'd probably want to look into java or maybe python with GTK.

Why not use Visual C++ as you want it to be running only on Ms Windows. If you want to run it on other operating systems too, then you should use C GTK ++ .

Re: UGI
Thx for the suggestions. If i decide to write apps for windows only do you think vb.net would be a better option?

If you had to make a choice between programming in vb.net or Java which would you opt for.

I've never done vb.net, but I can tell you that java's a pain. This is coming from a guy who's done mostly Web programming, though, so the whole strictly typed, mature OOP language phenomenon seems a bit of a pain, however useful these things may be for non-Web stuff.

I started off with Web Programming and now I am using Vb.Net and its pretty good, if you want the best, then go for VC.Net instead.
VB.Net is for beginners, and VC.NEt when you have advanced. |
