What to avoid to keep from frying your computer
I am familer with java code and am now going to start learning C++.
I've been told over and over, in an effort to scare me silly, that it is possible to boil my computer's insides to a glowing mush if I do something wrong in my programs. MY question is how likely am I to do this (on accident) and WHAT should I avoid doing or double check to make sure this doesn't happen? |

Its possible to kill a hard disk with cleverly written asm code but you will never mess up a computer that badly learning c++. Go buy a book or read some online tutorials and don't listen to idiots who say such things.

Thanks, I figured that people where exagerating, and that the worst I could do is mess up some of my programs learning file writing, but then everything I have on my computer is freeware so no worries. ^_^

You'd be very hard pushed to do even that. I don't think I could do it on purpurse let alone by accident while learning.
