I'm new with Access. Have created simple table where one field is OLE & linked to MS word docs. This field shows that it is a word doc. When creating a form, form only shows the ms word symbol not the word doc - formated text (all word docs are saved in a separate file). I would like to have the contents of the word documents show in the form created. Any suggestions and books to read?
Thanks |

depends on what you did - and what you want to do....
a Form has 3 controls involving embedding an image. Most db designers will warn you away from the embedded picture. It is ok for a logo up in the header - but for each record of a table/Form it balloons the db size. Also consider the complication of multi page Word docs attempting to embed inside a Form ....same is true for pdf. You can do it however - I have in small dbs involving photo of employees (less than 20 records...) . For lots of records each with a picture or multiple pictures - it is better to use a hyperlink field - this will show on the Form and the user can click to open file.... |
