Hi there,
could you please let me know if you find any possibilities for the following request? [Background] I recorded all issues in my job (software test) by hand on notebooks. However, the number of notebooks becomes large and it becomes hard - to find out a record quickly - to keep the notebooks in a shelf - to attach screen shots to an article (exist from the start) and I would like to find an alternative like "personal issue database" as a web application on my PC. [OS] Windows 2000 Professional [Requirements] - Easy to create/update an article - Easy to attach screen shots - All text search (in English, German and Japanese, if possible) - All you can do on a web browser - Easy to backup/restore data - Enable to see from another PC - Possibly low prize |

mySQL is a good alternative for you, I've had good results with putting pictures into databases myself. Not sure if you can do that with access however.. I'll have to look into that.

You might look into something like phpbugtracker or a bugzilla clone. Check out sourceforge.net and do a search on "bug" or "tracker" (or both). I don't believe phpbugtracker natively supports file uploads for screen shots, but it should cover all your other needs. A slightly more robust bugzilla clone that supports file uploads can most likely be found.

Thank you very much for giving me some ideas.
Bugtracker is completely new for me and seems very fit to me. Database is also easy to take backups and I would use it. |
