attention Ben: flash chat application

hi ben,
my first post in here,
if your in flash application writing mood it would be really handy if you could write a tutorial on how to write a php mysql flash chat application that doesn't require the use of sockets, and doesn't put too heavy a load on the server by only updating when there have been updates in the room,
i've seen a few on flashkit but they all require that the room is updated every "x" number of seconds, putting quite a large load on the server, if it's updating even if there is nothing to update.
i can't wait to see the news ticker app you building.

the only way to create a chat room in flash, is to refresh it every x seconds, there is no way to tell flash only to update when the database has changed.

Anyway the flash news ticker should be done within the week hopefully
