Java feeding Flash
I would like to add a clock via Flash. But I want the clock to be updated by continuously making requests to the server. I'd like the browser to feed the Flash with the information. How would I go about doing that?

first of all I would read my begginners articles on creating dynamic flash. That would explain a lot.

I meant, I don't want the clock updated via a PHP server side script, but via a client side script.
I've looked at these articles. I do not see any client side scripts implemented in them. The first Article, Counting Users Online, uses PHP. The second Article, An Interactive Email Form, uses an ActionScript to do some validation and then forwards the user input to PHP. The third Article, A Simple News Ticker, uses Flash, MySQL & PHP. Your articles are very well done by the way. Can an ActionScript be written that'll get the time registered on it's host? |
