loading variables

hi there,

i made a flashmovie with two scenes. the first is to load a variable-value from a textfile. depending on this value the user is directed to the first or the seventh frame of scene two.

when i play the swf-file itself, everything works fine, that is : when i change the variable in the textfile, the user is directed to a different frame. however, when i open the html-file in which the swf-file is embedded, nothing works.

does anybody know what may be the cause of this?????

it's very urgent, because i'm losing all my hair and i'm out of tranquilizers.
