news thing

Hi All

I have a news bulletin which updates dynamically

I don't want everyone to have access to this-just by password

at moment i have a button on frame 1 which directs to password on frame 3 if password right directs to frame 2 where the edit it to uodate news

Problem is i do not want button on frame 1 as it is too tempting
i know i could hide it but that seems a bit cronky

i thought about putting on separate movie that only i know and then once password is ok sent back to frame 2 on main movie

i don't know how to do this because geturl goes to frame 1

any help would be appreciated

i wouldnt use flash to have a secure area. from what your told me, all i have to do is force the animation to play and ill get around your security. easy.

Ben is right about the lack of security with flash, If you really want to use flash i'd suggest you use it in conjunction with php. If you still need help email me and i'll send you an example.
you'll kick yourself when you see how easy it is to achieve using this method.
It is still open to being hacked so I wouldbn't use this method to store any missile launch codes : )
but it's miles ahead and more secure than using flash on it's own to verify passwords.
you could also use multiple passwords that could re-direct to different pages, in effect giving you different "levels" of security.
