AOL IPs
I need to verify this so here it goes...
some of my visitors were complaining about my old usersystem because they said the verification number (the one I have in an image to make sure your a person) was not working for them. I noticed that all the people who were complaining were AOL clients. I think AOL is changing it's clients IPs quite often, can anyone verify this? |

AOL ip's change extremely frequently. They go through a proxy server to access the outside internet, so that IP address can actually change with every single refresh of the page, depending on which proxy they get durring each visit. They have their software setup to do load balancing through each of their proxys... I've even seen AOL dial up user ip's change multiple times durring a single session.
My girlfriend uses AOL on my cable link, where my cable IP address does not change, if she logs into AOL however, it reports a different IP address... HTH ![]() |
