I'm not sure if there is an answer for that question. I think it depends more on the programmer's ability with each language.

If you're better-versed in PHP, you're better off creating the site with PHP... If you're better using ASP, then you're better off with ASP!

Hello Frankie...

Sir, Actually I live in Multan, Pakistan... Here people dont even know about web development. Im currently doing BS and got professionality in ASP. I've got a chance to go and live in USA. And after five or six months i'll be there.

The main reson was that I just want to know that which one PHP or ASP is better in USA or which one will give me more focus in USA either PHP or ASP. I like to develop for Intranets...

So would you please tell me that which one either PHP or ASP is Suitable for me...?

Thanks Sir...

My Intranet at work has both ASP and PHP on.

I would imagine that in the US the predominant OS would be Win2K - and probably be standardized on ASP.

However this doesnt stop you installing PHP on a Windows Box.

PHP and ASP both have there strengths.

Some say PHP should stay on Unix becuase when its on a Win2K box it is too slow but it doesnt appear this way to me.

I prefer PHP, but that is my preference.

Just a side note....
Microsoft have just announced that they are releasing there .NET server products for Linux that means ASP.net will be on Unix/Linux very soon.
