content management system, intranet
I'm trying to set up an intranet and a CMS to manage it (and possibly to use in the future for our clients).
I'm looking into various off-the-shelf customizable possibilities such as postNuke, pMachine, PHPnuke and of course EditWorks - though the latter doesn't look like it contains a comprehensive enough feature set. I'm working on the requirements doc now but know already we'll need good versioning protection, image and file uploading, and security. Has anyone out there used any good cheap/free CMS systems for intranets/extranets/internet sites (that are more than straightforward blogs)? Any advice would be much appreciated - thanks! |

A good one on the cheaper side (about 25k) is CommonSpot. Now, that may not be within your budget - the best free one on the market and used by quit a few heavy hitters is ZOPE.
ZOPE is overkill for the majority of sites on the internet but is by far the top in open source development ventures.
