btw: what is the usual rate for a freelance PHP programmer in terms of hourly rates? In USD.
Hello Big Bear
I'm a Brit :) not a Yank... but same diffrence.
Why are you thinking about freelancing? It's pretty hard to get work at the moment... :o( But you should expect $40-$60 USD per/hour if your any good.
It's cheaper to work with Russian and India developers $3/$5 USD per/hour if your are outsourcing a lot work. But sometimes they mess up and they may steal your code. If you are looking for people, I know lots of people in this field. I used to work as freelancer but sort of gave it up as I got messed around a lot.
I still do odd jobs though @ £25 || $35 USD per/hour even if I have kind of moved on from contract hacking. If your thinking about doing any product development let me know.
BTW I'm sourcing some new content for my site soon. My Lunix box is down at the moment and I've been studying, otherwise I'd be doing a lot more with it as I'm not that happy with the current content or rather the lack of it.
Fancy doing any editing :) I could really do with hand.
