easy e-mail validator function

For my recommendation script, I needed to validate one or more e-mail addresses. I decided to whip up a little function that would be easily reusable. I would like to share this with the community, but I ask that you would give credit where credit is due — according to the GNU GPL.

I did not take me long to develope this; the biggest/only mistake I made was trying to use ternary statements instead of the last 2 if statements [in the function]. I hope that you enjoy it! If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please do not be afraid to post them here!
