Help with delete file

I am trying to delete a file (or several) using a form. I can see the files in the folders on server. I can upload new files through forms, but I need an easy to delete files. Users have access to only thier upload folders and can link and use files in thier folder (images, pdf. , etc.) , not they need a way to clean house.

In my books I can find scripts to delete a file, but does anyone have one that is handy? My users are your run-of-the-mill point and click type. I try not to have them type file names too often.


Another quick question: Through forms, I have users editing data from the database, but data input through dropdown menus always comes back from the db with the first choice picked. How do I have the data returned with the choice in the db highlighted? Text data from a text box comes back for editing fine, but radio button, dropdown, check box, etc. don't hold their value.

It's been close to a year since I've been around. My scripts have been working okay, so I haven't had to drop in. I sure appreciate everyones help.

well... a way to do the delete function, is to give all the useruploads an userid, and then simply make a DELETE FROM DB WHERE userid = $USERID. That should do the job.

And about the dropdown. You can make a temperary variable, that is set by the userchoise, that is then used to dertermin the id of the row that should be printet in the dropdown from the db
