Hiding directories
Hi ...
How should we hide our directory listing from users so that the users cant view our file listings. How should I do 'restricted area' page as in Apache Web Server. Thanks, Hope to hear from you guys soon.

how do you mean hide the directory listings? Do you mean so if someone typed "www.yourdomain.com/" it wont show the files?
If so, then I think thats specific to the host? I know that if I log in to my host CP (control panel) there is an option to allow or refuse directory browsing. As for the restricted page....you could use the .htaccess method to not allow others to view.... but again, do you mean like the browser message you often get "You are not authorised to view this page"? Sorry I couldnt be much more help! |

the easiest way is just to place a blank index.html file in each directory, which will stop the files from being viewed. or using htaccess files to block access, or to redirect them
