how to convert to binary

hello all,

i need some or more answer for this :

converts midi files to an eight bit binary string

converts bitmap images to an eight bit binary string

i need to convert it to 8bit plz by php

any one have a code for it

The following lines will read the bindary contents of a file into the $contents variable. Then I'm pretty sure you could echo it to the screen or manipulate it as you see fit.

$contents = fread ($handle, filesize ($filename));

fclose ($handle);
