I belive that CMS stands for Content Management System doesnt it? Which is what SiteWorksPro is I think!!

as for modular... I am not sure ... but does it mean that the site is made up from various bits of code that can be reused with any other site?? ie: almost a generic module of code....??
I'm not sure!! Come on someone... sort this one out for us!!

they are probably talking about a portal

with portal..you can "add" a module to your CMS without editing the code. The module would some thing like calendar module, html module (allowing you to add html to a section), event module etc etc.

its pretty hard to expalin

goto

ibuyspyportal.com

and check their portal out...u will get what i mean

Just becuase it's modular doesn't mean it's portal style

We are developing a CMS, and it has modular capabilities...

What that means, is that you can use the CMS Admin UI to install a plugin that will add another feature to your site ( what was posted above ) or it can even add to your admin ui, such as a mail messenger

SiteWorks is not a modular CMS. CMS's like Xoops are modular. This means, say if you want a gallery on your site, you can download a gallery file from there site, upload it, and install it into your current cms, without programming knowledge, it also means, that it is easy to extend a modular CMS. This way, you could develope a new section for your CMS, and instead of releasing a new verison of your CMS, you just release the modual, and people can download it if they need to.

Here's a good question: How would you go about making a CMS modular? Know where I can find any good tutorials? Thanks!

Cheers,
