Error 1148 Please Help
Hi,
I'm a total newbie to this wonderful world of MySQL but I'm already finding difficulty following my tutorials. I'm trying to load data from a .txt file but I get the following error. Error 1148: The used command is not allowed with this MySQL version> I'm working locally on my Windows XP machine and I've just installed the latyest windows binary of MySQL to see if it works but I ust get the same problem. Can anyone help? Cheers hardgristle

What command are you trying to issue? Also, what does the .txt file contain? Are you trying to populate the database tables? Are you using any 3rd party apps to manipulate your database (ie: phpMyAdmin, MySQL-Front, etc..)? If you're not using one of those applications, I would suggest downloading one... Also, I searched the MySQL site and came up with this. Hope it helps...
