How to start with Oracle
Hey ppl,
I am intending to start learning oracle, could someone tell me what I would need installed on my system to begin with. I am running windows xp pro. Also I just checked out the Oracle website and found these for download. I dont have the faintest idea on how to get things going. Hope someone sheds light on this. This is what I found for download : Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal Edition for Windows NT/2000/XP (3 CD set) & Oracle9i Database Release 2 Client for Microsoft Windows 98/2000/NT/XP (1 CD) Is this of any help ? Can somebody here guide me ![]() |

If you really want to learn the basics of Oracle I suggest you locate either version 7 or 8 and get those going. When they started adding the "i" to the versions they started to overy complicate a simple procedure.
Once you have either version 7 or 8, the install will be even more simple than installing MySql.
