Newbie needs setup assistance
I am just learning PHP. I can see that my (shared hosted) website has MySQL set up (from the PHPInfo screen).
I need to know how if/how I can set up a DB. I emailed my hosting company, but they are slow to reply (but they host for free, so that's okay). Do they have to do the actual creation of a database for me (as well as assign me a username/password) or is there some script I can run that will allow me to create a new DB. Any insight is appreciated. Peace, O B unce! |

You're at the mercy of your host. They'll need to set up a user for you, and they'll most likely set up your database as well.
