display tag jars are placed in WEb-INF/lib folder

Place these three jars under WEB-INF/lib folder displaytag-1.2.jar, displaytag-export-poi-1.2.jar and displaytag-portlet-1.2.jar.

Before using it in your jsp you should have the below line
<%@ taglib uri="://displaytag.sf.net" prefix="display"%>and now you can use it how ever you want like
<display:table... or<diplay:column

note - prefix uri with http.

How to use display tag library in Spring MVC

DisplayTag worked fine for us.

The example they show use the in-memory pagination style
Quote:
(<% request.setAttribute( "test", new TestList(10, false) ); %>)

We choose to use the application (database) controlled pagination style. To do it, you need to implement the org.displaytag.pagination.PaginatedList interface. Then, you will be able to, based on the request parameters, return the apropriate model for the page you are looking at.

As you will see, there is nothing special about spring to handle this.

hth,

problem displaying an array conditionally using display tag

I am using display tag to display an array of objects from session depending on certain condition using <c:if (JSTL tag). But the problem is it will display a blank row in between the table if the condition fails and there onwards it will continue.

Every thing works fine accept the display(blank rows inbetween the table)

Any body has the solution for it?

check out the code and attached screen

<display:table name="sessionScope.SecureMessages.messages" id="row"
requestURI="/messageChange.do">

<display:column title="Date" sortable="true"
headerClass="columnheader" sortProperty="createdDate"
defaultorder="ascending" class="tdclass">
<c:if test="${row.fromType == 1}">
<fmt:formatDate value="${row.createdDate}"
pattern="M/dd/yy" />
</c:if>
</display:column>

<display:column title="From" sortable="true"
headerClass="columnheader" sortProperty="To">

<c:if test="${row.fromType == 1}">
<cut value="${row.to}" />

</c:if>
</display:column>
</display:table>

out put
17/04/09 3422
17/04/09 3422

17/04/09 3422
17/04/09 3422
17/04/09 3422

17/04/09 3422

this is how the out put having space inbetween the line as the condition fails there.

Any body has the solution for it?

Thanks
