Welcome aboard! You'll first need to download the JDK from Sun's site. There are several JDKs ranging from J2SE (mostly for desktop development/applets), J2EE (Enterprise Java) and J2ME (mobile java). Once you've downloaded the JDK, unzip it to a directory on your C: drive (perferably somewhere in the root), and setup an environment variable (My Computer / System Information / Advanced / Environment Variables) and create a system variable called "javac" which points to: C:\[your java dir]\bin\javac.exe Hope that helps...
