What sort of certifications are there for Java?
What sort of certifications are there for Java?
Who conducts the examinaitions?
What is the best why to study for them?
Does anyone have one?
Has it changed your life if you do get one?
I am a scjp, sun certified java programmer, and am almost a scjd, sun certified developer. It did not change my life, since I was already proficient before I took the exam. And the certifications do not teach you programming at all..
I used a very good book to prepare for the exam: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/00...glance&n=283155 but my colleagues who never saw any java had more trouble.
(there is also an equivalent book for java 5)
The book prepares you for the exam, but does not teach Java like normal books do. If you're just interested in taking exams it's perfect, If you really want to work in Java and not fall on your face in your first job with java then you should also read/try some other things. This is, offcourse, my _personal_ _opinion_
