A few weeks ago, back when www.deviantart.com had its OLD layout, it had a feature, where when one would hover their mouse over a thumbnail, it would present this little box. this would have the pictures stats and such. In html, I would fill in the alt="" tag thing, BUT, the one on deviant art had a better effect. It was a different color, and the fonts were nicer. Additionally, it showed up almost instanteously, rather, then having to wait a few seconds with teh html alt="" tag. So i would like to know, how exactly one would go about doing this. Please tell me, if i am posting this in teh wrong programming languages forum...i was told by a friend that it was PROBABLY javascript, so i thought id try my luck.
THANKS! |

Yup - they are created with Javascript - officailly they are DHTML. There are tutorials everywhere for these, but dynamicdrive.com is my fav place for all things DHTML.

There's also a good, if rather beefy, library that'll do this for you with fully customizable tooltips and behaviors. Try googling Overlib.
