i'm making a kind of ebay using the program blue j. i've created something that allows you to add new items and view items already there, i now need to create a login screen so i can do it, does anyone know of any links to websites that may help me

I believe this thread is in the wrong forum. If your site is Java then perhaps you should start a thread there. If you mean javascript, then I suggest that you do not want to use client-side script for authentication to a $$$ site. In fact you should consider some form of SSL in addition to a server-side scripting solution.
I have some experience with PHP and Apache authentication, but only for semi-critical pages, not anything involving monetary transfers.
