I'm trying to use the great daily tip generator I found on devscripts.com, but when I went to paste it into my code I was unable to edit the <head> region - it's all grayed out. And the instructions said to paste another section of code in between the body tags --same deal; all gray and it won't let me paste.
I tried just pasting it elsewhere, but got a runtime error when I previewed it. I am using Dreamweaver, if that can give anyone any ideas on how to help me get this to work. I guess you can tell I'm new to this - any help is appreciated :-) |

Greyed out? You need to paste the code they give you into your source code. Not sure how your source document can be greyed out?

Well, it's a template - a cascading style sheet, so I think that might be why it's an uneditable region. I don't know how to edit the template w/o changing the entire site.
I've been able to paste other javascripts into the pages, but since this one calls for it to be in specific places I can't get it to work. Does that help? I really want to get this to work - any suggestions? |

Just open the file in a plain text editor, and drop in the code that way.

Well, thank you for your help -- that worked, but the code didn't. Or rather, how *I* used the code didn't - probably more accurate!
I got that runtime error, and frankly, I give up! But thanks for the tip about opening it in a text file - I will definitely use that in the future! |
