Although IMO links sometimes have a legit reason to be posted, I am not responsible for deciding what is and isn't SPAM for these forums. On my own forums, I disable all links, but allow posting URLs as text only. But how a forum admin/mod decides how to tackle the problem of SPAM links is an individual choice, and I can see where it would be easier to simply not allow any URLs or links period, rather than try to decide an often grey area.
Note that there is an exception in the review forum.
Other than that, try your best to post enough info without linking.
