wysiwyg editor and tables
I created a wysiwg editor similar to what was described in an article on this site.
Does anyone know how to go about adding a add table feature to the editor. |

actually I did a bit of searching and found a lot of questions but no answers. If someone has an answer I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

The steps to add table functionality were not written in the article because, at the time, DevArticles sold a product similar to the WYSIWYG editor, but with a lot more features. Adding tables was one of them. Obviously, it would not have been wise to give away too much about the workings of their product.
Tables cannot be inserted automatically using the exec command method. There is a way to insert them using a no-longer supported ActiveX component, included with IE5+. Info on the ActiveX object can be found @ MSDN. |
