Access 2000 Form Default Values Question

Hey all,

Let's say that I have to forms. Form 1 opens Form 2 when Form 2 opens one of the fields filled, becuase it got it from Form 1, however when I enter other values in the Form 2 everythings gets added to the table besides the field that was filled in by Default Value (a value on the previous form).

Now I know this sounds hard to follow, let me explain a little more, there is a number on Form 1 filled in by the user, when Form 2 opens there is a field that gets as its Default value the that number filled in on Form 1. But when I save the record everything besides that number gets put in the table (only a zero is recored).

What I find weird about this is that say insted of looking for the value in the previous form I use a static value like 5 for the Default Value and submit the info and EVERYTHING is just into the record.

I'm lost here, anyone got any ideas?

-Robert

Have you saved the record in Form1 before calling Form2? If not do so.

Is the field on Form 2 bound to the underlying dataset (has it got a control source set?) If not you will need to set it
