Auto-Populate Continuous Subform in Access 2000
Hello! I have two questions: I have a form that I created in Access 2000 that contains a subform with multiple pages that are linked to a main table. One of the pages in the subform is set up to be continuous. The subform has first name, last name and middle name text boxes that I would like to auto-populate if the user has more than one record to enter. For example, a user enters a new identification number and then clicks on the Defendent tab, then they enter the defendant's first and last name and middle initial and then enters a charge. If the defendant has multiple charges they can tab to the next entry in the subform...but is there a way that the first name, last name, and middle initial can be copied down so they don't have to re-type it?
Also, I mentioned above that a defendant can have multiple charges. So, under one identification number, there can be a bunch of continuous listings of different charges in the subform. Is there a way to have a field that would automatically assign a number to each of the charges? So if John Doe has 5 different charges, there would be five forms showing in the subform. The count field would assign numbers 1 through 5 to each of the charges...so instead of referring to the charge name, a user could refer to the number assigned to the charge. Is this possible? Please, let me know if I need to clarify anything further.
Thanks,
Shannon
