Rishyraj,

Can you clarify just a little with what you are wanting to do? If you are just wanting to change the starting autonumber of a table with a number other than 1, you can use an append query.

Post back with more details and I can give you a more specific answer.

Hi Iwells,

Well i was able to append and start the autonumber from the required start point.

What i am looking for is, We have borrower information with fields like name, borrowerid, amt etc. that are existing in the database. Now what we want to do is allocate a borrower a loan number based on the name(borrower) seleected from the drop down of the combo box.

This is because we may have 10 borrower names/id but we may advance loan only to 5. so only those five borrowers, based on the selection in the combo will be allocated loan numbers.

Thanks

Rishy
