I have an Access 2K application where the Back End, the actual data, resides on the LAN server and the front end, what the users see and use loaded on each desktop.
The front end tables were "Linked" to the Back End tables, containing the actual data, using the Tools>Database Utilities>Linked Table Manager. I'm just starting to read up on SQL SERVER 2K and found a web hosting service offering SQL SERVER 2K running on Win 2K Server. Could I achieve the same simplicity using, say ODBC connectivity, to "Link" my front end tables to the back end, recreated in SQL Server 2K on the web host? Thank you |

depends if your host allows connections from the internet to the sql server. If they do then just include an odbc connection thingy (a file one) with ur front end. But i doubt the host allows this type of connection.
Learn ASP and write your front end as a Web page probably be faster. |
