Database locks when reports are open. Please help!
I have a database out on a shared network. Only 2 other people besides myself use the database, and usually it's only 2 of us at a time. It works fine with record locks...as in if we both try to edit a record at the same time, the database will let us know, like it should. Also, as long as we're editing different records, there's no problem at all. However, if someone has the datsbase open and is veiwing a report, if another person (including me, the database admin) tries to open the database, they get the following error:
The database has been placed in a state by user 'Admin' on machine '<machine name>' that prevents it from being opened or locked.
As soon as the report is closed, the other person can open the database.... How can I make it so that this error doesn't occur?
Thanks,
Kelly
