Embeded files out of a database

I have a table that has embeded Word files and AutoCad files and I want to get them out of the table using code.

The reason is that I want to save them out as files then simply link to them instead of embeding them becaust the database is about 900 meg after compacting and I know from experience that once I get to 1 Gig, it will bomb.

I don't want to have to go into every record and open the file and do a "save as."

Any good suggetions for automating this?
