Memo Field vs Text Field
When I use a text field, the text wraps within the field, the field expands to fit the amount of text and all the data can be seen on my report. When I use a memo field, this is not the case. But I need more space than the 255 characters the text field allows. Is there a setting to make the text in a memo field wrap and the field auto-expand to meet the amount of thext in it?

Gale,
You mean the control on your report that takes the data from a memo field you can't set the properties Can Grow and Can Shrink and make it work properly? Wow...let me know what you find...very interesting. Anyone else seen this before?? lwells |

Can Shrink and grow...
The problem I am having is that the text will not wrap within the control on my report. I am probably overlooking something simple.
Thanks |

Memo Field vs Text Field
I'm having the same problem with a query using two tables with a one to many relationship.
The memo field is on the Quote:
to 255 characters. I've attached a picture of the query design grid. The field I'm referring to is called Quote:
Got any ideas? Thanks for your help. ![]() |

ADR007,
A memo field will hold 65,536 characters. When you run your query, what are you seeing that tells you that you are limited to only 255 chararacters? Are you looking at the results in a datasheet view, a form view or a report view? lwells |
