Seperate Application & Data File in Access 2002
I have seen previously that it is possible to have 2 Access files where one is the application and other one is the data file (contains all the tables). The benefit of this mechanism is that it's easier to modify the Application while not disturbing the Data file at all (where the tblPersonaldetails lies outside the Application file). How can I achieve that?
Can someone answer my queries, please? Many thanks in advance. |

Very easy.
It's called splitting the database. You can do it with the database splitter wizard or manually. Manually is as follows: Create another Access database shell and import all the data tables from the application. Return to the original application and delete the tables, compact and repair the database and click on Files \ Get external data \ Link tables. Select the tables to be linked and presto. |
