Txt To Columns

Hi
Im quite new to access and need to separate the data below which is separated by a ^ into different columns but need to do it from a query. Is it possible?

DP:135/11^LIC:079508^MDFV:07^MDFP:0954^0:135/11;0008,1:135-02D;0008,2:135-03E;0054

That depends. How consistent is this structure? Are the ^ characters always in the same position in the string? Always 4 of them? Use string manipulation functions.

Let x represent the original string.

Left(x,9)

Mid(x,11,10)

Mid(x,22,7)

Mid(x,30,9)

Mid(x,40)

You can also try importing your text file with the access import wizard. there you can set your own separator and don't have to write a single line of code.
