fulltext not supported

hi frnds
i m new to mysql and using 4.1.8-nt version
in a book i have seen that the version 3.23.23 and better support this i mean fulltext but mine is not doing the same

what shud i do?
shud i install sm other version or it will not create that a big diff

Your version should have full-text -- what are you trying to do, and what is it telling you?
