Question Is MySql ODBC? If so can I transform Access

I have read that MySql is an ODBC Data Base. If it is, can I convert my Access to MySql, and run the same ASP app thru an ODBC connection to MySql database?
May be I am doing a big mess with this concepts, but could anyone help?

If that is all your problem BadDog99, I can help!

Go to this link, where you will find a very good tool to Import an Access Mdb to MySql ==>>> URL
With this you make the conversion.

Well.....MySQL isenīt a ODBC Data Base.
There is no such thing....

ODBC is just a way to talk to your database, or in technical terms a API against the database. But there is a ODBC-driver for the MySQL-database, but that doesenīt help you with your converting issue.

You could use a Access-application (or VB) to talk to a MySQL-database with the MySQL ODBC-driver.

Regards.

Linuxdude.

Hi there LinuxDude!

Thank you for replying!

Beleave it or not man, I already knew this. I used ODBC Database as figurative expression.

To use MS-Access to talk to MySql, in some way is a solution. But seems Useless to me.
I have already found out what I whant.
My problem was:

I use ErWin 4.0 to Data Modeling.
ErWin 4.0 does not deploy Modeled DB for MySql.
So I need to deploy it, for example, to MS-Access.
Using DBTools, I convert Acess to MySql.
Then I can use GenericDB to put it to the URL

I could not have access to MySQL thru GenericDB, untill I set up a DNS Connection. But this I have already solved.

So, now I am on the road again.

Thank you all, as this was the whole subject.
