Is PHP/mySQL Search Engine 'Robotable'?

We are considering changing our site to a dynamic site using a sybase backend on Linux and using php as a front end to drive the content.

Because we rely heavily on search engine positioning it is very important for us to be sure that search engines will find our content when viewing our pages.

Can anyone tell me for sure if search engine robots will find the php results, or just the php code?

Incidentally, I'm interested in finding out what the going development rate is for PHP/mySQL or PHP/Sybase developers. Anyone know where to start looking? Security is obviously a big issue with a store like ours.

Thanks!

Descent choice. A more reliable and better choice would be a BSD System running PostgreSQL.

What is rendered in your browser is what will be seen by SE spiders as a spider is nothing but an invisible browser. Integrate mod_rewrite within the architecture for maximum SE page parsing.

It depends on who you have developing your architecture/project and what location they are in and their experience. There is much more to developing a solid project than just the underlying code. Our Corporation charges 130.00 US ph and up; depended on the project type (we are located in Washington DC area / 6 Years going).

Well, if you have something on your site, post a brief job description on there and I can send a few developers your way. Email me or post a link to the description.

Experience is the key. Look for someone that has done and implemented ecommerce type projects before - also someone that has not only strong PHP skills, but strong Apache and very strong DB skills - and to take it a bit further, someone who has also implemented more powerfull langauges than PHP (PERL, Java, etc.) as these people will understand more of the security aspects involved in developing these types of projects.
