MySQL and MS Access under FreeBSD?
Hello everyone,
Currently, I am using MS Access under FreeBSD(Unix) via Samba sharing. (5 users connected, simultaneously). Now, my plan is to make an interactive web page that will access data from MS Access using PHP/MySQL combination(not directly from MSAccess). I tried "linking" the MSAccess tables to MySQL Tables using ODBC, but it was too slow. My question now is, Is there any other way to feed the data from MS Access to MySQL in real-time? or whenever PHP needs the data. (as long as it is not manually done.) I hope its clear. Thanks in advance. Gino |

What the purpose of Access?
It would be considerably faster if you were to simply convert your access database to MySQL. |

I agree with you on that, BUT the one maintaining the MS Access program are having problems with some of the data type conversion to MySQL. He's using DBManager Professional as his conversion tool. So, we need to use MS Access tables, until we could accurately migrate ALL data to MySQL.
Any suggestions? |
