MySQL Installation Problems!!! Please Help
Hi all,
Totally new to MySQL and have attempted to install it but its gone wrong somewhere. I have installed mysql-4.0.21-win and it seemed to work fine. I ran the code C:\mysql\bin\mysqld-nt --install before creating a my-example.cnf. When i type the command NET START mysql i get the following error message "System error 3 has occurred. The system cannot find the path specified.". I have looking in the Administrative Tools under Services and mysql is on the list although its 'path to executable' is 'C:MySQL\bin\mysqld-nt MySQL' shouldnt it be 'C:\MySQL\bin\mysqld-nt MySQL' (with a \ in C:\) ? Is this causing the problem? If so how do i change the directory? Thanks for any help, Mike

Have found the answer to my question and it is working fine now - thanks for eeer listening
 If anyone would like to know how i did it i used the information at this link: http://www.faqchest.com/prgm/mysql-...3022_31864.html and search the page for 'System error 3 has occurred'. Cheers, Mike
